Hugh Grant is arrested

HUGH Grant has been arrested on allegations of assault on a photographer.

Grant is alleged to have lashed out at Ian Whittaker with a tub of baked beans reportedly near the actor’s west London home at 10am on Tuesday.

Police would not confirm that Grant had been arrested, but said in a statement that a 46-year-old man was arrested in connection with an assault allegation on April 24 and bailed to return to a police station next month.

A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said: “A 46-year-old man was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault on a 43-year-old man in SW10 on April 24.

“He has been bailed to return to a police station on a date in May.”

A police spokeswoman later added that the 46-year-old man was arrested at 7.30pm yesterday and bailed later that evening.

Trust an Englishman to use baked beans as a weapon.
